Rudbeckia for Summer Color
Traditionally called Black-Eyed Susans, these lively perennials bloom in full sun from late June into September. Generally found in USDA Zones 4-9, they are easy-care plants that come in a variety of warm colors, from bright gold to orange and chocolate brown. Preferring well-drained soils, they need a regular watering regimen their first year, then expect them to be fairly drought tolerant. A bright addition to the summer garden!
Create a woodland garden with shade loving ferns. Use native Sword Fern, Japanese Painted Fern, or other varieties to add color and texture.
